The man’s like a raging bull, eyes practically flashing red and voice fierce like he’s talking down a drug lord and not one of the world’s leading scientists. Oliver doesn't scream, he just condemns the man, “You did this. You failed this city. His life is on you!”

Diggle's glad he grabbed Oliver because the younger man was clearly moving to do something everyone would regret. Maybe Oliver wanted to be stopped though, because if he didn’t, then there’s no way Diggle could have done shit.

People who know, who saw his green smudge like paint, all say it's wasted on a freak like him. As much as he thinks about it, Barry is perfectly aware of how unwanted he is.

Oliver Queen is 20, mindbogglingly rich, achingly beautiful, and high on the fast life. Most importantly though is that over the course of the night- as Oliver plies him with a rum and coke followed by more than a few Shirley Temples- Barry’s emerald green smudge begins to spell his name in a quick messy cursive script. It's a rather awe inspiring match to Oliver’s own red splotch spelling Barry’s name in his furiously quick chicken scratch.

They fight a new criminal mastermind armed with tainted arrows, Batgirl is later struck down and collapses unconscious!

Pretty soon, they're working with that vigilante to search for the monsters they have to take out, and end up helping him discover the truth of more than a few of the problems happening to his city and to his family and friends. Maybe they should have let Garth take care of this one...

I Know Why The Caged Bat Can't Sing by AshWinterGray (Tim Drake-centric, Oliver/Felicity as a side pairing, 16/16, 2022-05-20) - Living on the Earth now deemed ""New Earth"" by the Bats, Tim has to adjust to having a family slightly different than his old one. But things aren't nearly that simple. Huntress, Powerwoman, and Powerman were but the first to come from their Earth, and now Tim finds himself trapped in a plot he had hoped would never come to be.

Secrets not even Tim fully understands come to light, and the Bats find the need to separate in order to properly piece the puzzle together, but it means putting each of them at risk, and every step they take can lead to a trap that could cost their lives. Or their sanity.

Perhaps Dick's insistence that Tim make friends wasn't so misplaced after all.

Reasons Wretched and Divine by SevenMinutesToMidnight (Barry Allen/Oliver, 2/2, 2022-05-28) - When Oliver came to him and asked if he wanted to go on The Gambit for Robert’s trip, he’d said no. Barry has school to think about and he’s not about to intrude on a Father-Son outing with the Queens. He’s learned how to judge what trips he should go on. So, he says no. Tommy isn’t going and it's a trip to Hong Kong for actual business so obviously Barry has no reason to be there as Robert’s stand-in buddy or whatever.

It’s not until Oliver looks at him and says, “I fucked up Bear.” Then proceeds to go into horrible detail about all the things he’s done to blow up his relationship with Laurel that Barry agrees to come. Oliver is hurting and while it's his own damn fault, Barry’s job has always been to be there for him. Even when it breaks his own heart.

Don't You Know Who I Used To Be? by SevenMinutesToMidnight (Barry Allen/Oliver, 8/8, 2022-05-27) - When he returns he brings the weight of grief as well as a motorcycle that’s black, sleek, and seems like it belongs in a car magazine and not the parking garage of their building. Barry tells her very quietly one day, “The bike, it's a Ducati. It was Oliver's. We- We used to ride it on days he didn’t drink. One time, I bribed him to come to one of his mother’s parties by telling him I’d learn to ride it. I was so upset about it. The party sucked so much I really didn’t want to learn."

It's the first time he cries in front of her and Barry is 6 feet tall but he looks so small at that moment. All Iris can do is be there for him, holding his hand and it’s devastating and feels like she’s been thrown into water that’s far too deep to swim in but afterwards Barry thanks her so quietly she thinks she might have dreamed it.
